A high temperature Buzz-o-sonic testing system, custom designed for testing thin (~600-900µm) ceramics and cermets to 1000°C in flowing N2 or air, was used to measure the Young's modulus of NiO-8YSZ anode supported bi-layer SOFC structures at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF)1. Some of the results are shown below.
