In this example, Buzz-o-sonic was used to measure the fundamental out-of-plane flexural resonant frequencies of twelve honing stones. The same samples were sent out for external testing with a Grindosonic. The mean frequencies were 1532 Hz Vs 1530 Hz for the Grindosonic and Buzz-o-sonic respectively: there was no significant difference between the two methods of frequency measurement.

To protect the privacy of our clients, we cannot give details of the grinding stones, but we can show the results (table 1).

Table 1: Grindosonic Vs Buzz-o-sonic Frequency Measurements

The main finding is that Buzz-o-sonic gives identical results to the Grindosonic when measuring the fundamental resonant frequencies of materials, but at ~½ the cost.
